Word on the street is that Lifetime has greenlit a movie about the incomparable Toni Braxton. It’s not exactly word on the street because the network actually announced the news on Tuesday. Based on her 2014 memoir, “Un-Break My Heart” is an authorized biopic chronicling the recording artist’s divorce, financial difficulties and struggles with her son’s autism.
Toni Braxton has signed on as the executive producer and will appear in the film as well, which begins production later this year. With Toni being in the executive producer seat and appearing in the film, this will hopefully be a way better film than the Aaliyah film by Lifetime that didn’t go over so well with the public.
“Un-Break My Heart” will also be executive produced by Craig Baumgarten (“Twist of Faith”), Erik Kritzer (“The Runaround”) and Marcus Grant.
The script is by Susan McMartin (“Mom,” “Two and a Half Men”), and Link Entertainment is producing. Vondie Curtis-Hall (“Abducted: The Carlina White Story”) will direct.
