Tear Gas Deployed Outside of Hot 97 Summer Jam Concert

On a night where Kendrick Lamar, Chris Brown, 50 Cent, and other entertainers were inside of MetLife Stadium tearing the house down, there were apparently patrons outside trying to tear down the building. Riots broke out outside of Hot 97′s Summer Jam concert when a mob of individuals tried to rush the entrance and police were forced to step in and control the situation. As police were dressed in riot gear, they did what they normally do when dressed in riot gear – they deployed tear gas upon the crowd. There have reportedly been several arrests at MetLife Stadium tonight.

In a statement New Jersey State Police said crowds were attempting to illegally enter the sold out concert by climbing over fences and forcing their way through security personnel. The gates to the stadium were shut and troopers were called in to help maintain order, police said. There have also been some reports that some of the patrons had tickets but could not get in and there wasn’t anyone giving refunds and therefore chaos ensued.

As the details pour in, the truth will eventually come out.
