Super Bowl Champ Starts Record Label and Wants to Sign Former Teammate

asamFormer New England Patriot, Philadelphia Eagle, and Atlanta Falcon Asante Samuel has two Super Bowl rings but now he is championing a new cause. Asante recently founded Eighties Nation Records and seems to be highly interested in signing the Falcons’ strong safety William Moore, according to the team.

Samuel, who is currently retired from the sport played for 11 years and racked up four-time Pro Bowl appearances, said he formed the label as “a way to help people get out of our hood and give them jobs and a way to stay out of jail.”

The Falcons reported Moore’s “catalog includes ‘W.A.R. (WillyMo Always Ready),’ a track first released in 2012. That year, he and Samuel appeared together on D-Block’s Freestyle Friday. This isn’t the first time an athlete wanted to get into the music business. Just ask Deion Sanders.
