According to the Wall Street Journal, Sony Corp is planning to sell its half of Sony/ATV Music Publishing, which happens to be the world’s largest music publishing company. Sony, which owns Michael Jackson’s estate, most the Beatles songs, and quite a bit more, recently activated a clause in its contract that allows one partner to buy out the other. Sony/ATV’s is reportedly worth $2 billion or more. As of yet, Sony hasn’t put a selling price on the market. We will keep a close eye on this.
