On Sunday, March 15, 2009 the Philadelphia Marriott located at 12th & Market Street will play host to Radio One Philadelphia whose stations include WPHI, 100.3 The Beat, WPPZ Praise 103.9, and 107.9 WRNB as we spotlight the industry elite along with up and coming talent with the 2009 edition of the Music and Entertainment Conference.Â
The Second Annual Music and Entertainment Conference will feature three new customized workshops, along with four returning workshops from the inaugural event. â€œThe Music and Entertainment Conferenceâ€ is the brainchild of Radio One Philadelphiaâ€™s Operation Manager, Elroy Smith who says about this yearâ€™s installment â€œThe Music and Entertainment Conference was such a huge success last year that we are taking it to a larger venue so that we wonâ€™t turn anyone away. Listeners will be able to learn from the experts in various workshops from R&B, Hip-Hop, Inspiration Workshop, Listen and Critique. However, this year we are introducing three new workshops; â€œBlack Hollywoodâ€ starring Jamie Foxx, a â€Fashion Workshopâ€ with fashion guru Eva Marcille, and â€œSo You Think You Can Danceâ€ with famed choreographer Fatima Robinson.
This will be HOLLYWOOD in Philadelphiaâ€.
This yearâ€™s workshops include the â€œFashion Workshopâ€ whoâ€™s panelist include â€œAmericaâ€™s Next Top Modelâ€ winner Eva Marcille along with fashion designer Mycheal Knight, and photographer Jerris Madison, the â€œSo You Think You Can Dance Workshopâ€ a fully interactive experience which mimics an actual dance audition hosted by famed choreographer Fatima Robinson, the â€œBlack Hollywood Workshopâ€ featuring Oscar Award winner Jaime Foxx, filmmakers Will Packer & Rob Hardy, actress Wendy Raquel Robinson, and actors Keith Robinson and Laz Alonso, the â€œHip-Hop Workshopâ€ which includes panelist such as Common, D-Nice, and Ron Browz, the â€œInspiration Workshopâ€ which includes WPPZ Praise 103.9 Morning Show host Yolanda Adams, Donald Lawrence, and Tye Tribbett , the â€œListen and Critique Workshopâ€ where producers and songwriters such as, Rapheal Saadiq, Michael Bivins, along with Kevin Liles, Ray J., Ricky Bell and Ronnie DeVoe will offer constructive criticism on who’s hot and who’s not, and the â€œR&B Workshopâ€ whoâ€™s panelist include Grammy award winning songwriter and performers along with platinum selling artist such as Brandy, Monica, Avant, Jazmine Sullivan, Keri Hilson and Rapheal Saadiq.
The Second Annual Music & Entertainment Conference is continuing to grow with more artists being confirmed to participate. This yearâ€™s conference will also honor legendary names in the music industry such as Bell Biv DeVoe, Boyz II Men, Teddy Pendergrass, and Patti Labelle.
