OH NO: Another departure at WCCO Radio: Host Jack Rice leaving

Jack Rice, the noon-3 p.m. on ( 830), is leaving the station at the end of the month.

Rice said he and the station have come to "a mutual decision" to part ways after about five .

"They to go one place, and I to go another," said Rice, 44. "I'm doing more stuff on the East and West coasts."

WCCO program director Wendy Paulson said the station will conduct a search for a replacement.

Rice said the station was not letting him go, even though he had written that earlier this month on his site: "For now, I have been laid off. It just isn't public yet. I think they are trying to figure out how to hand le it. Don't know why as they have no problem firing people."

Tuesday, Rice characterized what he wrote as "just spouting off" and declined to address it further.

Rice is a former CIA officer and attorney who has done reporting in many of the world's hot , including , Darfur and Kosovo
