Nick Cannon’s “King of the Dancehall” now streaming on YouTube Red


its debut last year at the Toronto International Film Festival,  King of the Dancehall, produced by Nick Cannon’s NCREDIBLE Productions,  will make its debut on YouTube Red tomorrow, August 2 on Russell Simmons’s All Def Digital channel. For a sneak peek, check out the trailer released today.

Cannon – who serves as writer, director and executive producer – stars in this Jamaican dancehall drama alongside Academy® Award-winner Whoopi Goldberg (“The View”), multi-platinum selling rapper Busta Rhymes, newcomer Kimberly Patterson, actress Kreesha Turner, and Academy® and Emmy® Award-winning actor Louis Gossett Jr.

In KING OF THE DANCEHALL, the Brooklyn-born hero (played by Cannon) heads to Jamaica to start a new chapter after a major setback forces him to quickly leave town. He falls for a local girl in Kingston who introduces him to dancehall culture, and soon discovers a newfound passion for dance. As he works towards rebuilding his life and winning a prestigious contest, his past decisions and a powerful underworld threaten to undermine his journey towards redemption.
