WASHINGTON, DC – The National Association of Broadcasters Education Foundation (NABEF) announced today that David Barrett, president and CEO of Hearst-Argyle Television, Inc. and Larry Patrick, managing partner, Patrick Communications, were recently named to NABEF’s Board of Directors. Both cand idates were approved unanimously by the NABEF Board of Directors during the group’s December meeting.

And Larry’s reputation as a pre-eminent broadcast broker is surpassed only by his dedication to increasing diversity in our business. He gives unselfishly of his time and experience to interested entrepreneurs in our Broadcast Leadership Training program. We are grateful for their continued leadership.”
David Barrett is president and CEO of Hearst-Argyle Television, Inc., and is a board member of Hearst-Argyle Television, Inc. and the . He is also a Trustee of the Trust established under the Will of William Rand olph Hearst and a Director of both the William Rand olph Hearst Foundation and The Hearst Foundation. He serves on the boards of directors of the (NAB), Association for Maximum Service Television, Inc. (MSTV), the Emma L. Bowen Foundation, and various other boards. Barrett is past chairman of the board of governors for the ABC Television Affiliates Association and the Federal Communication Commission’s Media Security and Reliability Council (MSRC II). In 2004 he was named “Broadcaster of the Year” by Broadcasting & Cable magazine, and in 2008 he was inducted into the Broadcasting & Cable Hall of Fame.
