PHILADELPHIA – December 22, 2016: Mix 106.1, Philly’s Station Playing Variety from the 80s, 90s and Now, announced today the return of Chio in the Morning’s “Chio’s Wish,” a campaign to help provide financial support to local families in need during the holiday season.

Throughout the month of December, the Chio in the Morning show asked listeners to nominate friends, co-workers and relatives who are in need of financial assistance. The “Chio’s Wish” program received over 400 entries, and Mix 106.1 selected 10 families to receive $1,000 each to help the families pay bills, buy gifts and support other basic needs. Throughout Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, Chio will read select nomination letters and surprise the chosen families on-air with $1,000 each. The families will have an opportunity to thank the community and discuss the importance of giving during the holidays.

“Chio’s Wish embodies what the holiday season is all about,” said Chio. “Every year we look forward to giving back to the community by helping families that need it the most have a happy holiday.”

Due to an overwhelming response from passionate listeners, “Chio’s Wish” will extend throughout the year. Each month, Mix 106.1 will provide financial assistance to a nominated family based on need. Listeners can submit their nominations at www.mixphiladelphia.com beginning January 9, 2017.

“Chio’s Wish” is presented by Warehouse 34 Furniture and Mattresses.
