Madd Hatta has been posted up non-stop at Houston ‘sSharpstown Mall since 5AM Tuesday, September 30th and is broadcasting live from the event throughout the day. A host of local and nationally known celebrities have shown up since Madd Hatta began the drive on Tuesday morning including Chamillionaire, who registered on site, , Paul Wall, , Lil Keke, Slim Thug and Boss Hogg Outlaws, many of whom stayed on the air with Hatta for hours, encouraging fans to come out and register. This morning’s efforts will get some assistance from Houston’s Mayor, Bill White who will visit Hatta’s registration station to both applaud the efforts of the 97.9 team and to assist in the call to action. He is expected to be at the Sharpstown location some time between 7 and 10AM according to a spokesperson from his office. “We are at a crucial time in history.” Hatta explains. “Bank failures, a $700 billion bailout, recession, depression, corporate scand als…….the list is endless. We need to be active or see the United States fail as a country. It is time for everyone to be proactive in getting the right officials elected to represent the correct causes and part of that is by being a part of the voting process. Our company has committed to bringing in a record 50,000 people to be registered to vote from around the country and I wanted to step up and get my morning show listeners that are not registered, to get involved and do so.
