This isn’t too far out of the norm if you are a black male but Jermaine Dupri just had the Miami Beach experience of a DWB (Driving While Black). I could tell you countless stories of being pulled over for not a damn thing or suspicion as many officers have explained to me.
Jermaine and his crew were driving through Miami Beach at 3:24 this morning when cops pulled them over because the tint on their Lincoln was too dark.
At this time Jermaine, who was a passenger, and the others were patted down. Of course the police didn’t find any weed, marijuana, kush, sticky icky, or anything resembling pot. The actually did find—wait for it—wait for it—-a single Xanax pill in a plastic container, inside the pocket of one of Jermaine’s friends.
After finding the Xanax pill, the police felt it was necessary to request the K–9 dogs to sniff out any other drugs. In all, Jermaine says 5 cops cars arrived on scene, but didn’t find anything except the one pill.
Just when it thought it was over, the officers felt that Jermaine’s friend was in illegal possession of the Xanax pill. He insisted he had a prescription, but cops were suspicious. Someone in Jermaine’s camp said he would go to the guy’s home to get proof that he had a valid prescription. The cops allowed him to leave to get it, and guess what? The guy came back with the proof, and everyone went home.
