“Django Unchained” is a Foxx, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Samuel L. Jackson starring film which follows a freed slave on a mission to rescue his wife who is still in captivity. Lee, who has boycotted the film, described the Quentin Tarantino directed feature as “disrespectful” to his ancestors.
Foxx, who scored a major radio hit for his collaboration with Kanye West on “Gold Digger” told The Guardian that he found Lee’s comments to be “irresponsible”. “He didn’t like Whoopi Goldberg, he doesn’t like Tyler Perry, he doesn’t like anybody” said Foxx of Lee. “I think he’s sort of run his course. I mean, I respect Spike, I think he’s a fantastic director. But he gets a little shady when he’s taking shots at his colleagues without looking at the work.”
Since 2007, Sirius Satellite Radio has featured Foxx’s channel called “The Foxxhole” where “The Jamie Foxx Show” airs on Friday nights. “Django Unchained” is in theaters now.
