SiriusXM announced today that Rock and Roll Hall of Fame member James Burton will host a monthly show on SiriusXM’s ElvisTM Radio channel 19. The new program will honor the King of Rock ‘n’ RollTM during Elvis Week, which commemorates Elvis’s memory on the 40th anniversary of his death.
The James Burton Elvis Radio Hour will feature James Burton sharing Elvis Presley stories and memories, as well as music hand-picked by Burton including songs by Roy Orbison, Glen Campbell, Emmylou Harris, Ricky Nelson, The Monkees, Brad Paisley, Frank Sinatra, Keith Richards, Elvis Costello and many more. James Burton organized and led the TCB Band, backing Elvis Presley from 1969 until Presley’s death in 1977.
“When I shook hands with Elvis, it was like we’ve known each other our whole lives,” said James Burton. “It’s really amazing that I can tell all my Elvis stories, some that have never been told, and share them with the Elvis Radio fans who listen to SiriusXM.
The James Burton Elvis Radio Hour will air on Friday August 11 at 10:00 pm ET on Elvis Radio, via satellite on channel 19 and through the SiriusXM app on smartphones and other connected devices, as well as online at siriusxm.com.
