Hot 97 Heats Up Summer
hot97-where-hip-hop-livesWQHT HOT 97 FM, the #1 station for Hip Hop & R&B, will air HOT Summer Mix Weekends through Labor Day weekend. HOT 97’s celebrity personalities, including Funk Flex, DJ Enuff, DJ Camilo, Megan Ryte, DJ Big Ben, and Kast One, as well as guest star mixers from all over the country such as DJ Khaled, DJ Drama, Statik Selektah, and Lobo, will mix all weekend long starting at 12:00 p.m. every Friday through midnight on Sunday. HOT 97 is known for providing listeners with the hottest mixes in music, and is ready to bring the party to its fans all summer long!

HOT 97 has a history of making summer special for our listeners,” states Pio Ferro, Director of Programming for WQHT. “We kicked off the 2015 season with an absolutely amazing summer jam festival, and want to continue the party every weekend all summer long. Judging by the response we had during this past Independence Day weekend mix, our listeners love the all-mix format, and we love putting it together for them!”

Universal Music Publishing Mexico has signed an exclusive publishing administration agreement with SACM (Sociedad de Autores y Compositores de México), the Mexican performing rights organization, for the US and Puerto Rico, it was announced today by Yadira Moreno, Managing Director of UMPG México & Central America.

UMPG MEXICO INKS DEAL WITH P.R.O. SACM

umpgThrough the deal,  UMP Mexico will provide administration, licensing and creative services for all domestic and international songs owned and/or administered by SACM Publishing in Mexico.

“We couldn’t be more delighted that SACM entrusted their legacy to UMPG,” said Yadira Moreno. “SACM has a unique catalog that conveys the cultural essence of contemporary Mexican music. It will be our privilege to maximize opportunities for the composers we now represent, and to continue promoting their songs in the territory.”

“As a composer myself, I have firsthand experience of the effectiveness and efficiency in which UMPG operates,” said Mr. Armando Manzanero, President of SACM. “We are very excited to be working with UMPG, as they understand the nuances and complexity of our catalog.”

UMPG’s deal with P.R.O. SACM is to administer their rights in the territory of the the U.S. And Puerto Rico. SACM administers their own rights in the territory of Mexico.

Carter Brokaw Named iHeartMedia’s President, Digital Revenue Strategy

GuardianUS_CarterBrokawiHeartMedia announced that Carter Brokaw will join the company as its President of Digital Revenue Strategy, effective immediately. Brokaw joins iHeartMedia from Guardian News and Media and will report to Tim Castelli, President of National Sales, Marketing and Partnerships.

In his new role, Brokaw will oversee iHeartMedia’s digital sales efforts driving digital revenue through new and existing sales channels as well as developing new digital revenue strategies for iHeartMedia.  He will be responsible for leveraging iHeartMedia’s unique digital assets and massive reach, including more than 858 streaming radio stations and websites; 70 million registered users on iHeartRadio; 600 million app downloads; 87 million monthly digital uniques; and more than 75 million social media users across its network to implement a vast array of digital integrated media packages for the company’s national advertising partners. Additionally, Brokaw will support local digital selling activities and collaborate with iHeartMedia’s marketing, technology, field sales, revenue management and national integrated sales groups.

Brokaw will work closely with Brian Kaminsky, iHeartMedia’s President of Programmatic and Data Operations, to take to market iHeartMedia’s first-of-its-kind programmatic, real-time ad buying platform launched earlier this year for broadcast radio stations, enriched with unique and proprietary data as well as third-party data.

“Carter’s impressive track record of developing business strategies and launching national sales organizations for several media companies makes him the perfect person to drive our digital sales strategy,” said Castelli. “His vision and skill sets will be integral as we continue to build on the success of our digital sales team.”
