The Clock is Ticking and the countdown is on for the IBBA Fall Broadcast Conference and Icon Awards held on the same dates of The 40th National Conference of Black Lawyers Convention and The Motown Alumni Convention on October 10, 11, 12, 2008 at the Marriott Renaissance Hotel Downtown Detroit and The Hotel St. Regis Detroit. It all kicks off with the IBBA Vip Reception on Friday, October 10th at 6:00pm at The Hotel St. Regis, Saturday, October 11, it’s the IBBA Broadcast Panel, moderated by Tony Gray, President of Gray Communications – Chicago, Digital Television is Coming-Are You Ready? moderated by Karen Beverly, Federal Communications Commission Washington, DC, Saturday night at 8:00pm the IBBA’s Icon Awards Dinner honoring Detroit native Mr. Tommy Marshall who serves as Vice President of Urban Promotions Interscope Records, Ms. Jamillah Muhammad, Program Director of WMXD/Mix 92.3 iHeartmedia (formerly Clear Channel) Radio Detroit, Mr. Herbert Strather, Businessman, Real Estate Mogul and owner of The Hotel St. Regis Detroit and Mr. Al Bell, former owner of Stax Records. The keynote speaker for the evening will be Mr. Charles Evers, brother of slain civil rights leader Medgar Evers.
