( NEW YORK , ) ““ 97 STREET SOLDIERS HOST LISA EVERS, NY GIANTS - SUPER BOWL CHAMPION KAREEM MCKENZIE AND HIP ARTIST ANNOUNCED THEY WILL CO-HOST THE “ 4 PEACE” SHOW AND !

THIS EVENT TAKES PLACE ON SATURDAY, APRIL 28 FROM 1 P.M. TO 5 P.M. AT THE HOSTOS ARTS CENTER AT HOSTOS COMMUNITY COLLEGE , 500 GRAND CONCOURSE, BRONX , NY . THE PROGRAM WILL BE HOSTED BY EVERS, AND IS DESIGNED TO EMPOWER YOUNG PEOPLE AND OFFER POSITIVE ALTERNATIVES TO STREET VIOLENCE.

“OUR “˜STREET SOLDIERS’ LISTENERS ARE ALWAYS ASKING US FOR WAYS TO MOVE TOWARDS SAFE, PRODUCTIVE LIVES AND AWAY FROM THE RANDOM GUN VIOLENCE AND NEGATIVITY OF THE STREETS,” SAID EVERS. OUR PUSH FOR PEACE SHOW & FESTIVAL IS A FUN WAY TO GIVE THEM A VOICE AND LET THEM KNOW THEY’RE NOT ALONE.”

THE EVENT WILL FEATURE A TOWN HALL DISCUSSION PANEL WITH A FOCUS ON HOW TO HELP OUR YOUTH GET BEYOND THE VIOLENCE AND NEGATIVITY THAT DESTROYS MANY LIVES IN OUR NEIGHBORHOODS EACH . HIP HOP ARTISTS PRODIGY AND DJ WEBSTAR , NY GIANTS CORNERBACK AND FORMER RUTGERS FOOTBALL STAR BRANDON BING, AND A HOST OF COMMUNITY LEADERS WILL BE IN ATTENDANCE. THE EVENT WILL FEATURE LIVE MUSIC FROM HOT 97 DJs AND A WIDE RANGE OF ACTIVITIES, INCLUDING AN OPEN MIC COMPETITION AND A FAIR WITH COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS OFFERING INFORMATION ON THEIR PROGRAMS, FREE GED CLASSES, EDUCATION AND JOB TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES, AS WELL AS A VOTER’S REGISTRATION TABLE PROVIDED BY HOT 97’S HIP HOP VOTES CAMPAIGN. THE EVENT WILL BE FREE TO THE PUBLIC AND WILL HAVE GIVEAWAYS, PRIZES AND REFRESHMENTS.

BRONX BOROUGH PRESIDENT RUBEN DIAZ JR. AND NEW YORK CITY CORRECTION OFFICERS’ BENEVOLENT ASSOCIATION PRESIDENT NORMAN SEABROOK WILL JOIN EVERS IN CO-SPONSORING THE EVENT.

“THIS EVENT WILL NOT ONLY OFFER GREAT MUSIC AND ENTERTAINMENT BUT ALSO GUIDANCE TO SO MANY OF OUR YOUNG ADULTS WHO DAY BY DAY ARE FACED WITH TOUGH DECISIONS. THE PURPOSE OF THIS EVENT IS TO REINFORCE THEM THAT THERE ARE ADULTS IN THEIR COMMUNITIES WHO CARE AND WILL STAND BY THEM AND HELP STEER THEM AWAY FROM STREET VIOLENCE,” SAID BRONX BOROUGH PRESIDENCE RUBEN DIAZ JR.
