Tony Coles, Operations Manager of iHeartmedia (formerly Clear Channel) Radio Chicago today announces the promotion of Gonzo to Program Director of Mega 95.5. Gonzo, currently Mega 95.5’s morning drive host, assumes his dual role immediately. He served as interim Program Director since early last month.
Tony Coles commented, “I am excited to see Gonzo grow within our organization. In a very short period of time he has demonstrated that he has the leadership skills and vision we need to make Mega 95.5 into a market leader.”
Gonzo has over ten years experience in Spanish language radio. He began his radio career in 1998 at More FM 98.9 as on air host and creative director. In 2001, Gonzo joined MVS Radio with EXA, where he hosted morning and afternoon drive, while also serving as producer for both shows. He moved to Univision Radio/San Diego in 2003, where he was on-air host and hand led production. He also worked at Uniradio/Pulsar FM as afternoon host. Gonzo joined Mega 95.5/Chicago in June 2009 as morning drive host.
Gonzo added, “This is the culmination of many efforts and years of learning.” He looks forward to “the beginning of a new challenge with a project full of potential, and embraced by such a great company.”
