Public radio and television stations to partner with schools and community-based organizations across the country
April 26, 2011 ““ Washington, D.C. ““ The Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB), in partnership with America’s Promise Alliance, and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, will announce a significant new initiative to combat the dropout epidemic in the United States on Tuesday, May 3, 2011 at 10:15 a.m. ET live on Facebook.
The program will build on public broadcasting’s long-standing commitment to education by convening conversations and strengthening partnerships between public radio and television stations and local schools, businesses, and community organizations ““ all with the goal of helping students stay on course to graduate from high school.
