Monday, June 6, 2016 (East Rutherford, NJ) – Last night, WQHT HOT 97 FM, Where Lives, hosted the ultimate music event of the year:  HOT 97 Summer Jam!  The biggest names in Hip Hop, including Kanye West & G.O.O.D Music, DJ Khaled & his many friends, Remy Ma & Fat Joe, and more took over MetLife Stadium, coming together to celebrate Hip Hop.  Despite the inclement unfortunately cancelling the afternoon pre-show, Festival Village, the Stadium Stage performances conquered on, leaving fans hyped in their seats.

The entire show kicked off with Maino and Uncle Murda, who brought out 2 Milly and got the entire stadium “Milly Rocking.” Next up,G.O.O.D Music took to the stage, as , Kanye West & 2 Chainz, joined Big Sean, Pusha T. & Travis $cott for epic performances of “Mercy” and “I.D.F.W.U.”  Kanye had more up his sleeve, jumping into hits from his latest album, The Life of Pablo, and bringing out Desiigner to perform his mega hit “Panda.”

Bryson Tiller graced the stage, bringing out special guest Fabolous to perform his latest song, “Sorry Not Sorry,” off of his mixtapeSummertime Shootout, as well as Tiller’s fan favorite single, “Don’t”.  Terror Squad made their return to the Summer Jam stage, performing an array of classic hits such as “Feel So Good” and “Lean Back” with the entire crowd on their feet singing along.  Fat Joe brought out songstress Ashanti to perform their 2001 hit single, “What’s Luv”, and French Montana for the remix of “All the Way Up.”

Up next, A$AP Rocky, A$AP Ferg and the whole A$AP Mob took to the stage, joined by an eclectic group of dancers, to perform “Yamborghini High” and Ferg’s hit song, “New Level.”  Closing out the show was producer and social media icon, DJ Khaled.  And when DJ Khaled says he’s bringing out everyone, he’s not kidding!  Rick Ross, Busta Rhymes, Movado, M.O.P., Ty Dolla $ign, KentJones, and The Lox all joined Khaled on-stage performing a collection of their greatest songs.

The surprise guests didn’t stop on-stage!  Backstage, Kim Kardashian West, Usher, Justine Skye, Rahsad Jennings, ColinKaepernick, and more were all spotted behind the scenes.

“Although we missed out on a portion of the event, the Stadium Stage performances did not disappoint!” states Charlie Morgan,Senior VP of Emmis NY.  “We’d like to thank MetLife Stadium, the New Jersey State Police, all of the artists and our fans for their patience during the weather delay.  The hottest names in Hip Hop put on remarkable performances, with the biggest surprise guests ever!  It truly showcases how legendary the Summer Jam brand is, and we hope that the event once again provided a memorable night for everyone involved.”

Due to the weather, the Festival Stage performances were unable to go on.

Morgan adds, “HOT 97 and MetLife Stadium’s top priority is the safety of our concert goers, performers and staff.  Because of the severe weather, it was decided to cancel the Festival Village & Stage scheduled for earlier in the day.  The second half of the event, albeit delayed, continued; therefore, refunds will not be issued to valid ticketholders.  We share your disappointment that due to the delayed start, as well as a curfew and an end deadline for the last train out of Secaucus, that we were unable to get everyone on stagetonight we had hoped would perform. Still, Summer Jam produced a night of amazing moments.  We appreciate your continued support for Summer Jam and the entire HOT 97 brand!”
