If you don’t know who Father Michael Pfleger is, he is a catholic priest that has been fighting for the safety and welfare of Black youth in Chicago for many years. He is one of the strongest voices for peace in the city of wind. Pfleger’s social activism has brought him media coverage throughout Chicago and beyond. He has often collaborated and associated with African American religious, political and social activists such as Jeremiah Wright, Joseph Lowery, Jesse Jackson, Harry Belafonte, Cornel West, and Louis Farrakhan. He even does a yearly basketball peace tournament along with former, Chicago Bull, Joakim Noah.
This past weekend, Father Pfleger had another Chicago legend come to talk the kids and it was none other than artists formally known as Common Sense. The rapper/actor spoke with 700 kids about making the right choices. In true b-boy fashion, you know Common also dropped a dope verse for the kids. Check out the video to see their reaction.
