iHeartmedia (formerly Clear Channel) names MTV founder Robert Pittman as CEO

 width=’s   parent company has named Pittman as the new , according to Forbes. Pittman will head up CC Media after having run iHeartmedia (formerly Clear Channel)‘s network of 850 stations across the country, including in Dayton.

Pittman was founder of and a former CEO of , and replaces Mark May, who stepped down as long-time CEO of iHeartmedia (formerly Clear Channel) earlier this year.

He has aggressive plans for renewed growth at the company, which has been performing well in recent times, according to Forbes. Pittman’s plans include selling national radio advertising, rather than focusing on local ads.
