Clear Channel Katz Advantage (CCKA) today announced the hiring of four marketing executives to boost its rapidly expanding marketing group. Marketing Advantage works on behalf of hundreds of radio broadcasters to promote the advantages of multiplatform radio and with advertisers and agencies to create strategic radio-focused campaigns.
Earlier this year, CCKA, a division of Katz Media Group, unveiled a major expansion of its national marketing efforts focused on boosting awareness among chief marketing officers, brand and product managers and media executives about the power and diversity of modern, multiplatform radio.
The first phase of CCKA’s development plan calls for opening two new offices and adding staff to raise the understanding of radio’s enormous value to the advertising and media-buying community. This group is charged with offering CMOs and brand managers access to both strategic thinking and customized solutions, highlighting the medium’s new forms of content like digital multicasts, on-demand audio and video, real-time traffic, exclusive new features like iTunes tagging, and innovative AM/FM approaches such as takeovers, sponsorships and ultra-short spot lengths.
The first group of new hires will boost the marketing staffs in New York, Chicago and Dallas.
* CCKA added Margaret Hughes to the position of Director at Marketing Advantage, New York. Hughes, a former Katz Media Group employee, returns after spending time at Westwood One Radio Network, Premiere Radio Networks and AMFM Interactive.
* Cynthia van Nostrand joins CCKA as a Manager for Marketing Advantage in Dallas. She comes to CCKA after serving as a manager of new business development for ABC Radio Networks for the Southern Region. During her career, she also worked for Gannett and Interep.
* Erin Murphy will become a Director, Marketing Advantage, Chicago. Prior to joining CCKA, she did consulting work in the area of media marketing, and has held agency positions at Realad, GSF Wagner, Smith Badofsky & Raffel, CPM, and Kelly Scott & Madison.
* Mo Zmich will become a Director, Marketing Advantage, Chicago. She served as a promotions manager for Clear Channel Radio Sales for four years in the Chicago office. She also has significant agency experience, having worked at Foote, Cone & Belding and the Grand Group.
Additionally, Marketing Advantage opened its new office in Atlanta, with CCKA veteran Gregory Simonson at the helm.
“I’m confident these four very talented individuals will create an immediate impact for our client stations,” said Bonnie Press, President of Clear Channel Katz Advantage. “Radio is making extraordinary advancements in new technology with the rapid expansion into online, on-demand, mobile text and real-time data and digital broadcasts, and we need to have the right people in place to most effectively deliver the message to the advertising community that radio is the best medium to reach the largest and, at the same time, most targeted audience. We look forward to making more such announcements in the near future.”
CCKA has made significant inroads into presenting a more strategic approach to selling radio advertising, delivering a nearly 300% increase in revenue in the past decade with more than 150 unique campaigns.
