CHRIS BROWN ANNOUNCES FIRST LEG OF “CARPE DIEM” WORLD TOUR BEGINNING ON NOVEMBER 17 IN NORWAY

NEW YORK (September 25, 2012) ““ Coming off of winning the MTV VMA Award for Best Male Video, multi-award winning and multiplatinum-selling singer, songwriter and producer    has announced the first leg of his “” world that will begin on November 17 in .

Released July 3  on RCA Records,  “FORTUNE“  claimed the  #1 position on  Billboard’s Top 200 Albums and R&B Albums charts,  according to Nielson SoundScan.  The #1 Top Albums chart debut in the Netherlands and UK marked his first time achieving that feat in those countries.FORTUNE“  also ushered in  Brown’s  career-best Top Album chart debut in Ireland and France at #4, Japan at #5, Canada at #6, Switzerland at #10 and Germany at #13.

In addition to claiming the  #1 album on iTunes’ US Albums chart, Brown’s iTunes dominance included his  first-ever #1 album in 5 countries:  UK, Australia, Japan, Netherlands and New Zealand, and the  #1 R&B/Soul album in 22 countries:  US, UK, Germany, France, Australia, Japan, Canada, Austria, Belgium, Finland, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, New Zealand, Thailand, Philippines and Malaysia.

Brown’s single, “Turn Up The Music,” was the #1 single on the Official UK Singles chart and his first #1 single in that market. It was also the #1 single on the UK TV charts and the #2 single on the Official Australian Singles chart (ARIA).   The “Don’t Wake Me Up” single was #2 on the Official UK Singles chart, #1 on the UK TV chart and #2 on the Official Australian Singles chart (ARIA).   That track also reached #4 on the Nielson Euro Hot 100 airplay chart. Brown’s latest single, “Don’t Judge Me,” is moving up the Billboard charts and a music video will be released soon.

Brown’s current global supremacy is a testament to his natural-born singing and dancing talents, first showcased when he burst onto the scene in 2005 as a 16-year-old with “Run It!” from his self-titled debut album. The Virginia native followed up with the successful multiplatinum releases: “Exclusive”  (2007),  “Graffiti”  (2009) and  “F.A.M.E.”  (2011), which won Brown his first ever GRAMMY Award in 2012 for Best R&B Album. With the release of  “FORTUNE,” the singer has racked up worldwide total album sales of  over eight  million to date, and total worldwide song sales of  nearly 30  million. Adding the coveted GRAMMY Award to his collection, Brown is the recipient of 43 awards, including the recent MTV VMA Award for Best Male Video, a BET Award for Best Male R&B Artist and  a Billboard Music Award for Top R&B Artist.
