BOOM 107.9 FM Partners with Freeway to Present FREEFEST

Screen Shot 2015-09-14 at 8.46.45 PMRadio One Philadelphia’s BOOM 107.9 FM partners with Philly’s own hip-hop sensation, Freeway to present FREEFEST 2015 on Saturday, September 19th at the Electric Factory.
FREEFEST is expected to attract several thousand attendees. The outdoor festival will feature Philadelphia’s finest vendors, a DJ Showcase, and hot hip-hop performances by local artists. The free, ticketed concert will feature Freeway and surprise appearances by his cohorts in hip- hop.
“We’re excited to do something new in Philadelphia,” said Shawneen Thompson, Vice President and General Manager, Radio One Philadelphia. “FREEFEST gives our growing BOOM audience an all-day, live and home-grown adult hip-hop experience that can only come from the City of Brotherly Love – – and it is all free!”

Freeway, a North Philadelphia native emerged in the late ‘90s as a socially conscious rapper with
a golden tongue that captured the attention of Jay-Z’s Roc-A-Fella Records. Making his mark in
hip-hop history, Freeway produced four successful solo studio albums. After over a decade of
success, he maintains the legacy of one of hip-hop’s most distinctive voices.
Listeners can win their tickets by listening to Boom 107.9 daily or by going to one of the
following FREEFEST Ticket Stops featuring members of the Morning Show from 12 – 1 p.m.
