The bet 2015 Community Impact Awards presented by Denny’s celebrates exceptional leadership and highlights the nation’s brightest stars and local heroes making a positive impact in their community. Hosted by actress Wendy Raquel Robinson, the inaugural bet Community Impact Awards honors the influential work of grammy nominated singer and actor Tyrese Gibson (Community Vanguard Award) and popular radio personality Tom Joyner (Community Icon Award), as well as the winning recipients of Denny’s ‘Hungry for Education’ scholarship program, Mississippi Valley State University’s Vester Waters (Community Impact Award), for his work with low income families in the Mississippi Delta and Detroit, and Michigan region, and Fayetteville State University’s Tiffany Holloway (Community Impact Award) for her work with the homeless in the downtown Charlotte, NC area. Host Wendy Raquel Robinson (Community Advocate Award) received a surprise award for her strong voice on key issues that matter most to her community. The show features special musical performances by Stacy Barthe and Tyrese Gibson.
