BBM Canada delivers the first eight weeks of pre-currency PPM radio data in Montreal today

Broadcasters in Montreal will get their first eight weeks of data from the new electronic measurement service in Montreal using the MeterTM (PPMTM) today.

Montreal has become ’s first radio market to move from diaries to electronic measurement. The first 8 weeks of the initial 13 week currency period is being provided to allow members to plan for the official currency release on December 10th, 2008 (which will include the period from September 1 to November 30, 2008). The data are produced from full strength French speaking and English speaking panels.

After PPM becomes currency on December 10th, future Montreal PPM data will release monthly starting January 7, 2009. BBM will release the final diary-based currency on November 27th to provide support for buys posted on diary data in Montreal.

The Montreal market launch is the first phase of BBM Canada’s radio rollout plan which will see PPM panels launched in Toronto, Vancouver, Calgary, and Edmonton in Fall 2009.

The Montreal PPM radio ratings service is being operated by BBM Canada, a not-for-profit, member-owned tripartite industry organization, which has been operating since 1944. It supplies radio and television audience ratings services to the Canadian advertising industry. BBM’s membership includes television and radio stations and networks, advertising agencies, and advertisers.
