Producer/Director Frank Badami and Producer Katie Jones Badami, are happy to announce that Badami Productions, along with comedian Marion Sweet, have acquired the exclusive life story and all merchandising rights in all media for all types of production of The Loretta Mary Atkins aka Jackie “Moms Mabley” story, with the “Moms Mabley” family as partners.

Frank, Katie and Marion along with Natalie Wells Tibbs have begun development on “Moms” projects, ranging from Film, TV and books to tee shirts and coffee cups and all the shades in between!

Frank states that he will immediately reach out to members of our business and entertainment communities to successfully bring the iconic “Moms Mabley” back to our national and international audience, so she can entertain us again and to enshrine Loretta Atkins with the status that she deserves.

“Moms Mabley” was referred to as and is “The Original Queen of Comedy”. Historians note her as the first female comedian to gain national recognition. “Moms’ “ comedy was social and political and was delivered in a personal way. Her material was cutting edge. Moms often covered subjects that others were afraid to joke about. During her lifetime, Mabley performed at many venues including The ApolloTheater and on popular TV shows; Show, Flip Wilson Show, Jack Benny Show, Merv Griffin, , and had an ABC-TV Special. Three Presidents, John Kennedy, Lyndon Johnson and Jimmy Carter invited Moms to the White House.
